Caring for your EcoLoc products ensures they deliver optimal performance and longevity.
In this section, you’ll find guidelines covering cleaning best practices, user recommendations, and vital safety precautions. These steps have been carefully curated to help you get the most out of your EcoLoc products while prioritizing safety and hygiene.
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your EcoLoc device, lid, and insert. Follow these guidelines for a thorough cleaning:
- Do not immerse the device in water. This could damage its internal components and compromise its efficiency.
- Gently wipe down the surface of the EcoLoc device using a damp cloth. Ensure that the fabric is dry enough.
- After wiping, leave the device to air dry or pat it down with a dry cloth. Ensure it’s completely dry before using it again.
- The EcoLoc lid can be cleaned in a dishwasher, but for the longest possible lifespan, it’s recommended to handwash the lid.
- Begin by rinsing the lid and insert under lukewarm water to remove any large debris or food particles.
- Using a soft sponge, gently scrub the lid and insert. You can use a mild dishwashing detergent for a deeper clean if needed.
- For corners or harder-to-reach areas, a soft-bristled brush can be beneficial. This will ensure any residues or particles lodged in tight spaces are removed.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water to ensure all detergent residues are washed off.
- Pat dry with a clean towel or leave them to air dry before using or storing.
- Avoid using abrasive pads or brushes, as they can scratch or damage the surface of the lid and insert.
- If you encounter stubborn stains or residues, soak the lid, and insert in warm, soapy water for a few minutes before scrubbing.
- Ensure all parts are dry before assembling or storing to prevent bacterial growth or mold.
- The EcoLoc device employs PureFize broadband UV light to effectively eliminate microorganisms that might compromise the quality and freshness of your food. The UV light produced is tailored for the food container environment. When used as instructed, the EcoLoc device is entirely safe.
- The battery will provide up to 60 minutes of operation before recharging. To maintain optimal battery health, charging the EcoLoc device at least once every month is advisable. Please note that EcoLoc AB cannot be held responsible for reduced battery runtime caused by battery age or usage, as battery life depends on usage patterns.
- Recycling – This product conforms to WEEE regulations and must not be disposed of with regular household waste. Dispose of the product at designated collection points or recycling centers. Locate the nearest authorized collection point in your area to ensure the safe and professional removal and recycling of the battery and electric components. Adhere to your country’s guidelines for disposing of electrical products and rechargeable batteries.
- Avoid filling the food container to its maximum capacity. Always leave space at the top. Overfilling will diminish the treatment results.
- Unplug the device from the charging cable before using or cleaning. Before using the EcoLoc device, ensure it is clean and dry for optimal results. To clean the EcoLoc device, use a damp cloth and mild cleaning solution. The device operates solely under dry conditions; it is not waterproof. Do not expose the EcoLoc device to water.
- Steer clear of sharp objects that could cause cracks and/or scratches on the glass components. Ensure that the glass surface is clean before use.
- Store the device in a dry environment at room temperature. Do not store the EcoLoc device in the refrigerator. The cold temperatures may affect the device’s electrical components or battery life. Never store the EcoLoc device in the freezer.
- Only use the EcoLoc lid with the food containers provided in the starter kit or the specified IKEA 365+ food containers.
- Food containers with a lid can be stored in refrigerators, freezers, and ambient temperatures.
- Remove the lid or leave it slightly ajar to release steam before heating in the microwave.
- Avoid contact with sharp objects to the lenses.
- The EcoLoc device and lid with PureFize functionality are designed to work together for extended food storage. They should exclusively be used with provided accessories or other products officially labeled as “with PureFize functionality.” Any other usage is considered improper and could lead to personal injury or property damage. The device is intended for household use only. EcoLoc products must never be used on humans or animals.
- The device is intended for adults and children 12 years and older. Individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or those needing more experience and understanding, can operate the device only under supervision or with proper instruction to ensure safe use and comprehend its features and potential risks of improper handling.
- The EcoLoc device is shipped with a USB-C charging cable suitable for any USB-C adapter. Ensure the charging cable is not bent or pinched and keep it away from heat sources such as stovetops or gas flames.
- Disconnect the charging cable from the device once the charging process is complete or if any damage or risk is present.
- Before each use, inspect the device for any signs of damage. Never operate a device that has sustained damage.
- The device operates using electric current, which presents a risk of electric shock. Mishandling may lead to a fire hazard. Do not attempt to open or tamper with the device.
- This device contains non-replaceable batteries. Do not attempt to dismantle the device under any circumstances.
- The EcoLoc device has built-in sensors that detect if the device is correctly attached to the lid. If not, then the device cannot be turned on. This extra security feature prevents the users from turning on the device when it is separated from the lid. Place the device on the lid and start the session by properly attaching the lid to the food container.
- The EcoLoc lid should always be placed on the food container before using the device.
- Although the EcoLoc lid can be used in the microwave, it’s not recommended. Using it in a microwave might reduce its longevity.
- The EcoLoc lid should never be placed in an oven. Exposure to high temperatures in an oven can cause the lid to warp, melt, or release harmful chemicals.
